The Great Kids-Summit. Trends and Currents in Children’s Television

A seminar co-hosted by SUPER RTL and HMR International GmbH & Co. KG

Children’s programming has always been a crucial genre and a hotly contested field in Germany. New media consumption habits and fiercer competition have now also come to affect the market situation. Though digital and interactive content provide for new modes of commercialization, these depend on attractive distribution venues to get through to children today. The “Great Kids Summit” presents thriving formats, talks strategy, trends and factors of success in an international context, and pinpoints opportunities for producing companies and broadcasters in Germany to benefit from these latest developments.

We are especially pleased that our list of speakers includes Eric Ellenbogen, the founder of Classic Media and one of the most influential and distinguished voices in international children’s programming.

A comprehensive international overview provided by Johanna Karsenty (MEDIAMTERIE – Eurodata TV Worldwide) will be followed by a series of inspiring keynotes, including presentations by Carsten Göttel (SUPER RTL), Dominic Gardiner (Jetpack Distribution) and Marc Goodchild (IpDipSkyBlue).

The closing panel featuring Milagros Aleman (Nickelodeon), Barbara Biermann (ZDF), Brigitta Mühlenbeck (WDR), Elke Walthelm (Sky Deutschland), Claude Schmit (SUPER RTL) and Dr. Mark Specht (Nickelodeon) will then discuss how producing companies and broadcasters in Germany can make the most out of the latest developments.
