Broadband meets Content goes Africa. Business trip to Egypt and Rwanda

NRW.International GmbH is organising a business trip to Egypt and Rwanda from 24 to 30 November 2019. Representatives of the North Rhine-Westphalian media and IT industry, the film and television business with the broadcasting, production, post-production sectors as well as cable network operators are invited.

From 24 to 26 November 2019, the delegation will visit Cairo, the capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Thanks to its above-average young and dynamic population, Egypt is one of Africa’s most important media markets, which is in a state of constant change. Although television remains the most popular medium, digital media have recently experienced remarkable growth. Location visits at companies in the growing ICT sector and the creative industries such as Telecom Egypt or Fiber Misr are planned, as well as a visit to the Smart Village Cairo, which has developed into a hotspot for the ICT sector in recent years.

The trip then continues to the East African Republic of Rwanda. The country has undergone unprecedented development and is now regarded as a model of good governance in the region. Since 2000, the government has been pursuing the development of an economy based on knowledge and technology. This has also led to a rapid economic upswing, which continues to this day. Rwanda owes this growth above all to the expansion of the ICT sector, digital technologies and the film industry, which has attracted worldwide attention. In the capital Kigali, the second KIGALI AUDIOVISUAL FORUM from 27 to 29 November 2019, which serves as a forum for the entire African audiovisual industry, will take place.
