The Great Factual Entertainment-Summit 2014. Trends and Tendencies in Factual Entertainment
A Seminar by Eyeworks Germany, MMC Film & TV Studios and HMR International GmbH & Co. KG
Factual Entertainment Formats make up a great deal of today’s television industry with numbers still growing. Not only does this genre offer a vast variety for addressing an audience, but also the possibility for a big international marketing strategy. However, it seems that scripted reality-formats could threaten to outstrip traditional Factual Entertainment. Where are the challenges between these two modes of entertainment and where could we profit from their inherent potential? This year’s Factual Entertainment Summit will point out strategies, trends and factors for success in an international context and present possibilities for producers and TV stations alike to benefit from these newest developments.
We were happy about keynotes from Laura Piaggio (Piaggiodematei), who presented her project “Old Folks Tales” and Virginia Mouseler from THE WIT. Furthermore we had showcases from Avi Armoza (Armoza Formats) and Philip Kampff (VIP Media Group).
We were very exited about the Q&A with Günter Wallraff who talked about his succes with “Team Wallraff- Reporter undercover” at RTL.
At the final panel discussed Tabea van Hoefer (RTL II), Thorsten Haas (ZDF), René Jamm (Eyeworks Germany) Uwe Schlindwein (UFA Show & Factual) and Kai Sturm (VOX Television) about strategies for the german market.
